BUCKEYE BROWNS BACKERS
OFFICIAL WEBSITE

Announcements/Notes:

September 3, 2010

Browns fans:

It's over. Preseason football is over! Now we can focus on our first foe of the 2010 regular season campaign, and that is the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Strangly enough, it's the first opener since the return our beloved storied franchise that we hit the road! The first of three games to be played in the Sunshine State in 2010.

The first game will be on Sunday, September 12th as the Brownstake on those Bucs at 1:00. We will meet at the Winking Lizard Tavern on Bethel Road once again, as we will throughout the season! We hope you and you Cleveland Browns' friends will join us! If you are going to the game in Cleveland, have fun!

Keep in mind, this will be a huge week for the club. We have a special guest with us. The former Tight End for the Browns, Aaron Shea will join us! Come meet the Aaron, as he will sign autographs and speak to us at the half! So far, we will have four guests, and you know you'll want some autographs for your collection! Be sure if renew your memberships for this year if you haven't already. Getting at least four autographs can be very costly. So, why pay more, when you can join for less? Family memberships are $30, and a family of 5 getting autographs go a long way! Becoming a paid member is an overall win-win situation! More BANG for your buck!

The first 2 weeks of the season, we will support the Miracle League of Central Ohio in the 50/50 raffle. We sure hope you will support this special organization for special needs kids and maintaining the miracle field in Dublin. We will move on to the Stefanie Spielman foundation in week 3, through October for the Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Don't forget, we are going to have a silent auction this Sunday during the game! Many great autographed items will be up for grabs and these items will be awarded to the highest bidder at the end of the 3rd Quarter. These proceeds will go to the Don Crow Memorial Scholarship Fund.

As stated earlier, for those who are nonmembers or have not yet renewed your 2010 memberships yet, you still have time. Remember, you will be eligible for door prizes, free autographs, and other membership incentives! Annual memberships are $15 per individual. Annual family memberships are just $30.

Looking ahead concerning our club, we are in the process to have some events ahead! We do have four scheduled already, including Reggie Langhorne! We are open to your ideas. Our president, Glenn Geiger is continuing to work hard to connect with many former Browns to join us as special guests ahead for the 2010 season! These guests will join us only during games when the Browns are on the road.

Last: On a personal note to all you fellow Buckeye Browns Backers members:

As most of you know, the first Browns' preseason game was my final appearance with this great organization. I had made the decision months ago to relocate to Arizona to be with my family, as well as seeking new opportunities and discovering adventures. I left Columbus the next morning after the first preseason outing, and arrived in Arizona today from a three day drive. I appreciated so much for everything this club has to offer, not only for the fun aspect of it, but leadership opportunities as well.

I want thank President Glenn Geiger, the widow of the founder of this club, Ruth Crow, my fellow officers, Rod Bennett, Doug Barr, Ted Goodman, Eric Worcester, Dan Rybak, and you, my fellow Buckeye Browns Backers members for giving me the opportunity and the support for me to serve as your vice president. I enjoyed every minute performing my tasks, this website, and having so much fun during every game with every one of you. On occasions when we lose, it's tough, but for me, it's the members of this club, that makes me as a Cleveland Browns fan much easier! Without question, I will intend to have the same feeling, when I get with many transplanted Cleveland Browns fans here in "the valley of the sun".

I am not sure what Glenn is going to do at this time in terms of handling vice president position, but as I am going to be extremely busy with my new adventures here, I will try to update this site as promptly as possible. This is for you. However, if there are any good webmasters within our club, I would like to give him or her the opportunity to take over the opporation of this site. Please contact me by email at
Plumdawg12@aol.com if you would like to take over this site I created. I want to remain in contact with the Buckeye Browns Backers club and will find ways to keep connected with you and some Browns fans I meet here in Arizona.

Please continue make this club strong. I am badly going to miss you all, and last and not least, Go Browns!!!
